6KU, fixie influence in European cities
A new brand born out of demand
Avant Sport is the parent company behind the bike brands 6KU, Aventón and Populo Bikes. The 6KU brand was created as a specific response to the huge demand for quality fixed-gear bikes at attractive prices. The company's founder, Jianwei "JW" Zhang, who started the project in Los Angeles in 2012, was disappointed with the quality that factories were offering in their designs and set out to create a bike that was affordable, yet well designed and fairly priced for the rider.
With the support of his family, who already had extensive manufacturing experience, he felt backed to set up his own factory and so have complete control over the process, without depending on other manufacturers.
Inspiring every cyclist
6KU is a brand that inspires passion and makes life easier for every kind of cyclist, whether it's enjoying bike rides with friends, exploring the most beautiful corners of the city or cycling to work.
JW carefully sources the best materials to build his bikes and meticulously designs every part, always with the rider's benefit in mind.
At 6KU they have the ambition and the responsibility to produce the best possible parts, bearing in mind that this process can be a problem. When making their frames, they constantly strive to improve their business practices, reducing consumption and becoming a brand that makes unique and exclusive designs.
6KU today
Today, the mission of the 6KU company reflects those original values from its early days. They offer bikes at affordable prices thanks to the ownership and exclusivity of the manufacturing process, and believe that everyone should be able to have a bike without needing to spend a large amount of money.
Although they entered the market solely as makers of single-speed and fixed-gear bikes, 6KU now offers a range of bike accessories and add-ons.
