There are bicycle brands created by cyclists, and cyclists who create bicycle brands. Vitoria Bikes belongs to the second category. It was founded in 1983 by former professional cyclist Juan Vitoria.

Juan competed between 1974 and 1978 in the cycling team with Valencian roots, PC Sedavi-Muebles Adolfo, and years later he joined the professional team "Miguel Moreno Peña-Manzaneque". Beyond road cycling competition, Juan Vitoria was an enthusiast of cycling in all its forms. Cycling was his passion and Juan looked for a way to dedicate himself to what he liked the most after retiring from competition.

From Switzerland to Spain

Living in the small Swiss town of Locarno, Sergio Golmeski, a renowned bicycle frame manufacturer, offered Juan Vitoria the opportunity to work in his factory and learn all the secrets of bicycle manufacturing. Sergio had a great experience in the manufacture of bicycle frames and thanks to him, Juan learned different techniques of cutting and assembling pipes and began to manufacture his first frames in steel.

With the idea of returning to Spain and the experience acquired from Sergio Golmeski, Juan bought all the necessary machinery from Marquete Lange, an Italian high-precision company. In fact, it was the same machinery that Eddy Merckx had acquired years earlier for the manufacture of his own frames. During that time in Spain, there were very few workshops working with quality steel frames, and in 1983, Juan returned to Spain to apply everything he had learned.

Ciclos Vitoria is born

It was not until 1988 that Juan Vitoria registered and began to name his bicycle frames as Ciclos Vitoria. For four years, his work was perfected until it reached optimum quality.

Since then, Ciclos Vitoria has been able to adapt to the evolution and constant changes in the cycling sector. It has used different materials for the manufacture of bicycle frames, starting with steel, then aluminum, up to the manufacture of carbon fiber frames.

In addition, the company has adapted perfectly to the different needs of all cyclists, creating high quality bicycles for all audiences.

Since 2014, Juan Vitoria's two daughters have been leading the project, facing major changes in the production and organization processes, as well as renewing the brand image and adapting to the new times with new types of bicycles such as gravel or e-bikes.
