The Thousand Heritage helmets maintain the vintage aesthetic of the motorcycle helmets of the 50s and 60s , due to their shape and color palette, but totally updated with some really spectacular extras such as the Poplock anti-theft system , which allows you to secure the helmet with your lock, the pinch-proof magnetic buckle and the dial adjustment system. They are also respectful with animals and the environment since they incorporate vegan leather straps made of ecological microfibers.
And as if that were not enough, Thousand offers free replacement in the event of an accident for a helmet from a collection of equal or lesser value than the original purchase.
"We named our company 'Thousand' as a promise – a commitment and a goal of helping to save 1,000 lives by making helmets people actually want to wear." (Gloria Hwang, founder)
Before trying Thousand, I had never worn a helmet, even though I had been a cyclist for a long time. They were too bulky, unattractive and looked too futuristic. But when I lost a friend in a fatal cycling accident, I knew I had to change that and set to work designing one.
Every time a member of our community writes to us, letting us know that their helmet kept them safe in an accident, we are inspired to do even more and keep more cyclists safe on the road.
We believe that by empowering people to move safely through their cities by bike, we build closer communities, more sustainable commutes and help people lead healthier lives.
